There are many barriers to receiving care from a specialist for Airdrie residents, such as: commuting, accessibility, and the costs associated with travel. Telemedicine acts as a compliment to face-to-face treatment and allows greater access of care for patients.

Telemedicine enables health clinicians to treat patients in their local health facility using remote diagnosis telecommunications technology. This means that residents can receive real-time patient exams at a local health facility without the added burden of traveling for care.

In collaboration with Symphony of Health Connections the Airdrie Health Foundation is supporting the implementation of innovative Telemedicine technology in Airdrie so that our residents can access specialty care in the comfort of their own community.
